Steven Oluic was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio and graduated from the Cleveland Public School system. As the child of European immigrants, education was highly valued and upon graduation from James Ford Rhodes HS, he attended Case Western Reserve University and was simultaneously enrolled at the U.S. Army ROTC program at John Carroll University. He was commissioned an officer in the Corps of Engineers at graduation in 1983. Unbeknownst to him, Steve would serve over 27 years on active duty and retire as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2010. He retired to Geauga with his wife and three children in late 2010.
Once back in Ohio, Steve continued his career at Lakeland Community College as the Dean of Arts & Sciences. He left Lakeland in 2018 and shortly thereafter assumed the role of the Director of Geauga County's Department of Water Resources. He left the department in 2023 and pursued a more active role in his consulting business and enjoying a pseudo retirement. Steve's time in Geauga, as a resident and more importantly, an County employee, has provided him a wealth of experience, friends, and colleagues to be a strong and determined County Commissioner. Steve is a proven leader with a vast background in various leadership roles, military and civilian. He is driven and dedicated to the citizens of Geauga County.
